This is an open-access journal, meaning that all content is freely available to the user or his/her institution without charge. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking the publisher's or the author's prior permission. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Oceanologia Editorial Office uses CrossCheck's iThenticate software to detect instances of similarity in submitted manuscripts with already published materials, whether in print or on-line. All submitted manuscripts are checked for similarity to the published materials. In publishing only original reports from research, Oceanologia is committed to deterring plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. Manuscripts are rejected promptly on the grounds of proven plagiarism.
