1 200 000 €

Scientific task:

Development of bio-optical models as a base of modern procedures for the Baltic ecosystem remote sensing monitoring.

Utilitarian task:

Development of operational algorithm for the Baltic ecosystem remote sensing.

Research fields:

Empirical investigation and modelling in the following fields: satellite data processing, atmospheric correction, solar radiation transfer in the sea water, bio-optical properties of sea water, photosynthesis processes in marine phytoplankton.

Priorities:

  • Assessment of temperature, chlorophyll concentration and total primary production of organic matter and oxygen in the Baltic Sea.
  • Radiant energy inflow and utilisation in the Baltic ecosystem.
  • Ability to predict the Baltic Sea ecosystem changes.
