- August 2019 the summer cruise of r/v Oceania in the Nordic Seas region ended and the ship returned to the country after over a two-month expedition. The work of our group was performed mainly during the ocean part of the cruise and included hydrographic and current measurements (ADCP and LADCP). Between the coasts of Northern Norway, the Bear Island and West Spitsbergen, we performed 203 vertical profiling of the water column using the CTD probe (conductivity, temperature, pressure) and the LADCP acoustic current meter. We also launched two ARGO floats. These are water-profiling devices that send the collected data to ground stations via satellite.

- 7 - 12 April 2019 the international conference of the European Geosciences Union (EGU2019) took place in Vienna.
Project results were presented in the form of the poster "Merchel M., Walczowski W., Changes of the heat content in the West Spitsbergen Current region in 1998-2017, EGU General Assembly, Vienna, Austria".

- June - August 2018 R/V Oceania took another Arctic cruise as part of the AREX 2018 experiment. During the oceanic part, in the Greenland, Norwegian and Barents Seas, we collected 160 vertical CTD/LADCP profiles. The research was conducted, among others, under the Polish research grant DWINS.

- 8 - 13 April 2018 the first results of the project were presented at the international conference of the European Geosciences Union (EGU2018) in Vienna in the form of the poster
"Merchel M., Walczowski W., Interannual variability of properties and distribution of deep and intermediate water in the Nordic Seas, Vienna, Austria, EGU General Assembly 2018".
- 30 August 2017 R/V Oceania just returned from another summer Arctic cruise AREX 2017. The measurement campaign within the DWINS project in the open ocean (the region of the Nordic Seas) took place. The IOPAS conducted measurements along 13 hydrographic sections, including 237 station. Hydrographic measurements to collect CTD (conductivity, temperature, pressure) profiles are performed using a SBE 911plus probe and extend from the surface to the bottom. Additionally,
direction and velocity of ocean currents, dissolved oxygen and fluorescence are measured in the entire water column.
