Filaments olive-green, attached, not twisted in the lower part. Cells in the upper parts of filaments, barrel-shaped cylindrical 0.4-1 diameter long, 0.5-2 diameter long in the lower part. Occures on boulders and rocks of the surf littoral, frequent. widely distributed, bipolar speces.
