Polish Committee on Scientific Diving (Polski Komitet Nurkowania Naukowego – PKNN)
The goal of the Polish Committee on Scientific Diving is to unite Polish institutions engaged in diving for research and scientific purposes, organized by Polish universities, scientific and research institutes, and museums (hereinafter referred to as scientific diving). The Committee aims to represent the interests of its Members both nationally and internationally, promote collaboration and exchange of experiences, establish and adopt appropriate standards and procedures, including efforts to implement future regulations fully governing scientific diving in Poland, as well as to support the development of this field of underwater research in Poland.
The tasks of the Polish Scientific Diving Committee include:
- facilitating communication between Polish research organizations conducting activities involving scientific diving,
- developing and adopting appropriate procedures and regulations related to scientific diving,
- promoting the development and use of scientific diving in research in Poland
- preparing expert opinions, analyses, and reports on scientific diving in accordance with the requirements of the Member Organizations of the Polish Scientific Diving Committee (PKNN) and other governmental or non-governmental organizations
