Work Package 1 - Stakeholder Involvement and Governance Rules
Objectives WP1 will inventory views of stakeholders, policy and management organisations regarding
1) perceptions on the social ecological systems of the BBT they are connected to, 2) their present needs and future requirements for tools and measures to optimize use and management of marine areas and safeguard a healthy marine ecosystem and its biodiversity, and 3) acting rules and regulations touching upon the ecology, biodiversity and ecosystem services in the marine zones of the BBTs, with an emphasis on Marine Protected Areas. Moreover, to allow for co-design by stakeholders during the entire project they are invited to contribute to all actions, and to test and evaluate results and outcomes of WPs and Tasks during the lifetime of the project. To this end, in cooperation with all WPs, workshops will be organized to inform and engage stakeholders. The outputs will be sets of recommendations by stakeholders to strengthen the impact of results from other WPs. |

Work Package 6 - Upscaling/Outscaling Project Outputs for Governance & Stakeholders
Objectives WP6 will upscale the outcomes of WPs 1-4 from local/regional management from the BBTs to EU-level policy making, to provide customised guidance for practitioners, member states representatives and policy-level stakeholders on EU and international levels, targeted to emerging needs. We will utilise state of the art scientific knowledge on European biodiversity and an in-depth understanding of current issues and challenges faced during implementation and reporting for biodiversity assessment and governance, based on the work in the BBT areas. WP6 will examine case studies in Martinique and the Black Sea and evaluate transferability of project outputs. The final WP6 output will be a synthesis and transfer of co-created knowledge from European-based understanding into Marine Biodiversity and Valuation Toolbox, to create a far-reaching legacy to benefit management and governance of marine waters where regulatory systems may not yet be applied across borders.
