8th Sopot Science Day

At the Polish-Norwegian Projects' box we were presenting our project objectives. Using jelly beans we created two "ecosystems", a warm-climate one with small organisms (only small jellies) and a cold-climate one with small and large organisms (small and large jellies). Than we asked the participants to imagine that they were predators catching the prey and catch as much food as possible in 5 strikes. They clearly saw that in cold-climate ecosystem it is much easier to feed on. After the hunting, participants could take their "prey" with them and get a little gift from us - a ruler with DWARF logo.

Also an art workshop for children was organised within the scope of the Baltic Science Festival. This event was focused on the theme of the Arctic animals and climate change and was organised by two Polish-Norwegian projects: DWARF and GLAERE. The kids produced beautiful pieces of art, that were later exhibited at the Institute of Oceanology PAN with a special opening of the exhibition (on 16th June 2015) when the authors of the best works were presented and all guests could listen to the popular lecture on the issues related to the studies by the two projects.
