Dr Magdalena Łącka
Magdalena Łącka is a PhD student at the Department of Ecology, Institute of Oceanology Polish Academy of Sciences. Her main field of interest is paleoceanography and the use of foraminifera as indicators of past and modern environmental changes. Her PhD study concerns a multi-proxy study focused on a climate change in the European Arctic since the deglaciation and include both classical micropaleontological approach, based on morphological analysis of hard shelled foraminifera as well as sedimentological and geochemical approach. She received a Master's Degree in Marine Geology from University of Gdańsk in 2010, and just afterwards started PhD studies in Institute of Oceanology PAS. In 2013 she was employed as a Lab Assistant at Department of Geology, University of Tromsø, Tromsø, Norway. In the DWARF project she is involved in Work Package 5: Paleontological Record of Size Spectra in Holocene. In the DWARF research she is interested in changes of Foraminifera size spectra as a response to the climate cooling and warming over the Holocene.
